Jere D. Beasley

Jere D. Beasley, age 69, passed away on January 31, 2008, in San Antonio, TX. He was born in Clovis, NM. He joined the Army National Guard in New Mexico at the age of 19 and served his country for 22 years separating from the ARNGUS/Texas Branch in 1985.
Jere's military and civilian education include NBC Specialist, Senior NCO, Advance NCO, Combat Engineer Senior Sergeant, NBC Specialist, ADA Operations Sergeant. Jere graduated from Portales High School in 1957 and then received his Bachelors of Arts in Business, Math minor from Eastern New Mexico University.
His awards and decorations include; Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, 2nd class, NCOPDR (w#4), 2nd Class ADA Badge, NMLSM, NMGCM, TFSM, AGIA
He was an active member for 15 years of Northern Hills United Methodist Church. A kind and caring man who gave willingly of himself including NHUMC Food Pantry. A special thanks to the staff Heartland of San Antonio, Joan Tutor, Bill and Carol Schultz, Karen and Larry Brown for the caring friendship extended to our father since our mother passed away.
He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Purcell Beasley of 40 years in 2000, mother Aldean Rhyne Mills, father, Clarence Dean Beasley, sister Lela Faye Rhyne, brother, William Mills. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Beasley Rendon and husband Leo and their three children, Mikhail, Marissa and Matthew; son, Paul D. Beasley; brother, Jimmie Beasley and wife Jeanne. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 10, 2008, from 3:00 to 5:00 P. M. at Porter Loring Mortuary North. A Reception will follow interment on Monday from 12:30-1:30 at Northern Hills United Methodist Church 3703 N. Loop 1604 E., San Antonio, TX. Service will be held on Monday, February 11, 2008 at 10:00AM at Porter Loring Mortuary North Chapel. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
